John's middle name is probably Crowley, the family name of his father's cousins. He was a railroad machinist. The 1940 census finds him in the Austin State Mental Hospital as an inmate. He may have later been transferred to the Kerrville VA Hospital. He may have been returned for burial with the family in Calvary Cemetery, but that is pure speculation on my part. He never married.
