Roy F. Leckron, age 95 of Waynesboro, PA went to be with the Lord on Sunday evening April 29, 2018 in the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born February 2, 1923 in State Line, PA, he was the son of the late Russell and Lillian Celeste (Byers) Leckron. He married his wife Ada Estelle (Brechbiel) Leckron on February 20, 1949. She died on February 5, 2006.

Roy was a retired construction electrician. He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Navy from 1943- 1948. He was a 1941 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Roy was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and a member of the American Legion . He was a former 25 year member of the Greencastle Lions Club where he served in various offices. He also was a Lions Past District Governor for District 14-T.

Surviving family are his children Cynthia A. Brant (Leslie) of York, PA, Joel F. Leckron (Elizabeth) of Chambersburg, PA, J. Keith Leckron (Cindy) of Greencastle, PA, J. Leslie Leckron (Nancy) of Titusville, FL, Katrina A. Stevens (Danny) of Angier, NC, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one sister Rosalie Leckron Hykes of Greencastle, PA, his close friend Pauline Anthony of Mont Alto, PA, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings John E. Leckron, Myrtle L. Hartle, Earl L. Leckron and Harold A. Leckron and a granddaughter Melissa Leckron.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 3 at 11:00 AM at the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren 117 S. Church St. Waynesboro, PA with Pastor John Weber officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg VFW Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Green Hill Cemetery Waynesboro. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.
