Funeral services will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church Hall in Carencro for Inez Abbadie, age 91, the former Inez Marie Bernard, who passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at her residence in Carencro.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Abbadie, born July 14, 1926, was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church. She was employed with Carencro City Hall as a city clerk for 18 years. Mrs. Abbadie retired after 28 years from the Lafayette Parish Tax Assessors office in 2000 as a supervisor of her department. She loved working in her flower bed and spending time with her great grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Donald J. Abbadie of Carencro; three grandchildren, Bobby Abbadie, Jami Abbadie, Holli Abbadie; and two great grandchildren, Taylon Benoit and Nevin Nicko.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonce G. Abbadie; her parents, Dalton Bernard and the former Emily Lavergne; two brothers, Earl Joseph Bernard, Clay Bernard; and one sister, Therese Bernard Angelle.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Abbadie, Holli Abbadie, James Smalley, Brian Viator, Jason Menard and Darren Smalley.
