Ernest, 66, of Jefferson, Texas, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born April 30, 1951 in Elizabeth. He was an inspector for the pipelines and a proud member of IUOE Local 406 in Lake Charles. Ernest was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Allen; his father, Floyd “Buddy” Thompson; his parents, Curry and Hazel Peters; two sisters, Melba Peters and husband Paul Crow and Juanita Thompson; and one brother, Floyd Thompson, Jr.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: three sons, Justin Thompson of Cleveland, Texas, James Foley of Lufkin, Texas, and Joshua Thompson of Elm Grove; four daughters, Stephanie Thompson and husband Anthony Laughlin of Vinton, Caitlyn Thompson, Chelsea Thompson, and Chloe Thompson all of Elm Grove; two brothers, Steve Thompson of Alexandria, Curry Peters, Jr. and wife Patti of Hico, Texas; one sister, Helen Bass of Glenmora; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; honorary daughter, Charlotte Jan Doyle; along with a host of family and friends.
