Mrs. Violet Mae Wahnowsky, age 92, of Fairdale, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Mrs. Wahnowsky was born in Louisville, KY on May 31, 1925 to the late Delbert and Mary Pierson. She retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company where she worked as a secretary and she regularly attended Penile Baptist Church. Among those who preceded her in death include, her husband, Walter K. Wahnowsky; son, David V. Laswell III; daughters, Glenda Crenshaw and Violet Mae Dixon; brothers, Henry, Jim, Delbert and Edward; sisters, Beatrice and Mildred. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Theodore Wahnowsky (Janice); grandchildren, Stephanie Ryall (Jonathan), Joshua Wahnowsky, Leah Levy (Judd), James Edward Segrest, Stuart Segrest (Beth), David Laswell IV, Douglas Durbin (Serena), Gina Pardue (James), Laura Winkler (Dustin) and Matthew Dixon; 17 great grandchildren; 5 great- great grandchildren; sister, Lucy Montgomery and a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Bethany Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
