Youngest son of Major J.E. Powell, leader of morning patrol, KIA Battle of Shiloh. Brother of Jimmy and Winfield Scott Powell.

Never met his dad as he'd left for Indian Territory before Tracy was born in 1855.

By look of swollen knuckles, Tracy must've had Rheumatic heart disease, but older family members say he died from being kicked in the head by a horse.

Tracy is wearing same clothing in picture that his dad is wearing in picture below...and in earlier shot, James Powell is wearing watch/locket that I now have after an auction of Civil War memorabilia in 2006...good to talk to people you consider dead.
