Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home in Elgin. Burial will follow in the Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa. Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.
He died unexpectedly Friday, April 20, 2018, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
John Edward Kiple III was born Sept. 5, 1952, in Dubuque, Iowa, to John and Roma (Medberry) Kiple. He grew up in Anamosa, Iowa, and later moved to Rosemount, Minnesota. He graduated from high school there in 1970.
John started working for Schwan’s Sales, Inc, in West Union, Iowa, and later transferred to Marshall. All told, he spent over 30 years with Schwan’s.
He loved to fish, mushroom hunt, watch movies, and was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour westerns.
He is survived by his brother, Monte Kiple of Marshall; sister, Joni Kiple of Huron, S.D.; nephews, Nicholas (Stephanie) Kiple of Huron, S.D., Nathan (Megan) Kiple of Huron, S.D.; niece, Holly Traen (Darek Nelson) of Huron, S.D.; four great-nephews; six great-nieces; uncles, Jerry Medberry and Robert (Helen) Medberry; and six cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and uncle, DeWayne Medberry.
