MISSOULA - Bonnie "Yvonne" Tahija, 68, of Missoula, passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, of natural causes.
Bonnie was born on March 23, 1935, to Stuart and Edna Beavis in Walkerville. She graduated from Butte High School in 1953.
She was married to Jerry Tahija for 48 years.
She worked for the School District 1 hot lunch program at Franklin School for 31 years. She loved the kids and the staff at Franklin.
Bonnie enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Over the years she was involved in Camp Fire Girls and Girl Scouts with her daughters and the Moose Lodge with her husband.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Tahija; daughter Jeri Hoyack and her husband Mark Hoyack and their three children, Kali, Caitlin and Ryan, all of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter Laurie Tahija and her husband James Nashu of Tucson; and two brothers, Frank and Albert Beavis of Walkerville.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 7405 Mullan Road.
Bonnie was very proud that both of her daughters graduated from Montana Tech and was a supporter of the school and education. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Montana Tech Foundation, 1300 W. Park St., Butte, MT 59701.
