He was born about 1613 (deposed in June 1639 "aged about 26 years,") son of Edward Bosworth and Mary (_____) Bosworth.He was a tailor who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1633, first settling in Cambridge; moved to Hingham in 1636, and finally to Rehoboth by 1658. Records in Cambridge make it clear that he had arrived in 1633, perhaps sent on ahead of other family members to prepare the way.

He married by about 1636 Elizabeth _____.

Children: Jonathan Bosworth Jr, Elizabeth Bosworth Brackett, Rebecca Bosworth Peck, Bethiah Bosworth Peck, Mary Bosworth Cobleigh Polly, Deliverance Bosworth Peck, Joseph Bosworth, and Bathsheba Bosworth Jones.
