Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, ADELINA "LINA" VILLAGRAN CORRAL, age 89, of Las Cruces left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at her home. She was born to Raymundo and Petra Gonzalez Villagran on October 22, 1928 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. Lina as she was fondly known to her family and friends was a communicant of the Basilica of San Albino in Mesilla, NM.
Those left to mourn her passing include a daughter, Marie Corral Sherman of El Paso, TX; two sons, Pedro Corral (Rosario) of El Paso, TX, Dr. Carlos Corral (Teresita) of Las Cruces; a brother, Jesus Raúl Villagran Gonzalez of Chihuahua, Mexico; four sisters, Alicia Villagran de Rivera, Lydia Villagran Corral both also of Chihuahua, MX, Socorro Villagran Arellano of Van Horn, TX, and Carmen Villagran Reyes of Las Cruces. Other survivors include thirteen grandchildren, Brisa Ramos (Rick) of Austin, TX, Pablo Corral (Bitta) of Dartmouth, MA, Adriana Corral of San Antonio, TX, Vito Corral (Amanda) of Dallas, TX, Luke Corral of Denver, CO, Katherine Flowers (Adam) of Namibia, Africa, Michael Sherman (Eunice), Carlos Fernando Corral (Sandy), Octavio Corral (Laura), and Cristina Corral (Romel) all of El Paso, TX, Jacques Villarreal, Milan Villarreal (Lena), and Mia Villarreal all of Fairfax, VA; twelve great grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicolas and Noah Ramos, Eliza Corral, Charis, Seth, Eden, and Jaydon Flowers, Alyssa and Sophia Sherman and Lucien Corral, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pedro Rascón Corral; a daughter, Dr. Marta Olivia Corral; a sister, Conchita Villagran de Dozal and a brother, Idelfonso Villagran Gonzalez.
Visitation for Lina will begin at 6 PM Monday, April 16, 2018 in the Basilica of San Albino, 2070 Calle de Santiago in Mesilla where Recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled for 7 PM. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 2:30 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 5750 Doniphan Drive with Reverend Enrique Lopez-Escalera and Most Reverend Bishop Oscar Cantu, concelebrating. The Rite of Committal and Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Road in Santa Teresa, NM where she will be laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jacques and Milan Villarreal, Carlos F., Vito and Octavio Corral, and Michael Sherman. Honorary bearer will be Pablo Corral.
