George Wesley Anacker was born February 24, 1929 in Darfur, MN, the son of Richard and Cyrenna (Haska) Anacker. George served his Country as an Army scout in the Korean War. Upon return from the service, he married Caroline (Carol) Haler on November 9, 1952. In 1961, they adopted their daughter Joyce. They moved to Mankato in 1967, where he worked as head maintenance engineer until retirement in 1991. They returned to St. James where they were involved with their church family at First Lutheran Church, volunteer work with the American Legion. George enjoyed traveling, playing cards and visiting with relatives and friends. His true passion was fishing and was at peace any time he was on a lake with a pole in his hand. He will be greatly missed.

George passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health System- St. James he was 87 years of age.

George is survived by his daughter Joyce Anacker of Reno, NV, and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife Caroline, parents Richard and Cyrenna, siblings Alfred, Albert, Edward and Irene.
