Gilbert B. Banks

UNION - Services for Gilbert B. Banks, 88, of Rt. 5, were held Saturday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. in the Neshoba Baptist Church. The Revs. William Walker, Warren Haney and Henry Adams officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery, Stephens Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Banks died Thursday night, Jan. 20, 1977, in the Neshoba County Hospital in Philadelphia.

He leaves three sons, Jack Banks, Pascagoula, John Banks, Union, and Bill Banks, Meridian; four daughters, Mrs. Ida George Woodard, Union, Mrs. Rebecca Burns, Pascagoula, Mrs. Ora Maud Smith, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Nell Petty, Union; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, sisters, Mrs. Mattie Vance and Mrs. Ester Gully, both of Neshoba. He had a number of Newton County relatives.
