Location of burial not found. Likely buried in a family cemetery on his farm containing 118 acres. See Deed Bk references below.

Earliest record - 1765: Henry owned land in Rockingham Co., VA -- 118 acres. The land was surveyed 5 May 1765 (then in Augusta Co.). This land was conveyed to Mathias Nave, son, by deed dated Jan 1800 -- burnt deed / none survived. There is a survey for Mathias Knave, dated 3 Feb 1803, for 56 & 3/4 acres. The survey states:

"This survey is the surplusage land included in Henry Knave's 118 acre patent dated 1st day of May 1781."

There is another survey for Mathias Knave, dated 2 Mar 1831, for 48 acres. This land, which includes Henry's 118 acre patent, was sold by Catherine Nave (daughter of Mathias) in 1854 to William Oarbough -- 215 acres/ $50, Deed Book 27 page 130.

In "VA Militia courts martial 1756-1796" -- LDS film #0030421 -- is the following:
Capt. Abraham Burd's Delinquents - David Robinson, Charles Mann, Daniel Harrison, Evan Thomas, HENRY KNAVE, John Compton, John Trumbo, James Calhoon, Jonathan Douglass, Jaco Giblinger, John Custard, Michael Lamb -- be summoned to appear at the next general court martial to show cause whie they did not appear at the general muster April 9th, 1771.

PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES: Henry appears in Rockingham Co. tax lists 1782 through 1786; starting 1787 Henry Knave appears with 1 tithable above 16; in 1791 Henry Nave appears with 2 tithables above 16. Henry appears on the lists up to and including 1800. CANNOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN HENRY Sr. & HENRY Jr. !!

VA MILITIA MUSTER ROLLS: In 1788 Henry is listed with sons Mathias and John. All males between ages 16 & 60 were required to be in the militia because of the possibility
of Indian attack. (per Charles M. Morris)

MILITIA "VOUCHERS" in 1788: Capt. Trumbo's Co. No 10 - Henry Knave 1 tithable, son Mathias 5 horses; Capt. John Ruddell's Co. No 11 - John Nave 1 tithable, 2 horses (per Charles Morris)

CENSUS: 1810 Rockingham Co., VA - Margaret (b. bef 1765) is living with son Mathias.
1820 Rockingham Co., VA - Margaret (b. bef 1775) is listed separately and living with her is a male b. 1794-1802 (?Maybe a grandson)
