John A Boggs was the s/o Joseph Boggs (1785-1850) and Mary Ellis (1786-1814). He was born in Georgia around 1813 and fought (The 74th Regiment of Georgia Militia Carroll County, Georgia- Muster roll dated May 21, 1836). in the Indian war aka The Florida War.

His 1st wife was Catherine Matilda William married in Sept. 1863 in Carroll County area of Georgia m/o Mary M Boggs Christy and Lillian Paralee Boggs. . Catherine appeared to have died after the birth of 2nd daughter.

His 2nd wife Mary Frances A Neeley whom he married 25 Aug 1865 in Bibb County, Alabama. They had 3 daughters, Stacey, Docia and Bettie, born in Alabama who went to Louisia with them.
