Charles Goggin, 87, of Troy, passed away peacefully in his home on April 1, 2018. He was born in Lesterville, MO on February 23, 1931 to Oscar and Bessie (Adams) Goggin. He had four brothers; Jack, Clifford, Bill and Jim and three sisters; Maxine, Betty and Jessie. Charles married his beloved wife Norma “Ruth” (Bess) on November 23, 1950. They were happily married for 64 years, before she left this earth on April 1, 2014. They were blessed with two children; Terry and Sharon. Charles worked in production at Proctor & Gamble in St. Louis for 31 years. Charles, Ruth and the kids raised beagles and were very active in the Eastern Missouri Beagle Club. Charles and Ruth owned Triple G Beagles. He was in beagling in his 20’s and has always been instrumental to Eastern Missouri Beagle Club. He has been Field Trial Secretary, President and Vice President for the last 20 plus years. In 1988 he was inducted into the Brace Beagling Hall of Fame. There are definitely many years of memories, stories and good times in the last 60 plus years and he has had quite a saga.
He is survived by two children; Terry and wife Carolyn Goggin of Troy, Sharon and husband Terry Mershon of Troy, four grandchildren; Kelly (Richard) Vancil, Rebecca Goggin, Jesse (Tabetha) Brown, Jaimie Brown, five great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren, 4 step great-great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Wife: Norma “Ruth” Goggin, his parents Oscar and Bessie; Daughter-in-law: Leslie Goggin, Granddaughter: Rebecca Ann Goggin, Sisters: Maxine, Betty and Jessie and Brother: Clifford.
