Obituary Condolences

CLAPP Larry Glen Clapp, 60, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on December 29, 2009. He was born on September 20, 1949 in Indiana to Glen and Florence Clapp. After high school, Larry joined the Army Reserve and on December 7, 1969, married his high school sweetheart, Holly M. Dearinger. They had one son, Jason Glen Clapp. Larry began working for the Penn Central Railroad (later Conrail) in 1969 and after several transfers took a job in Jacksonville, FL where he served as the Director of Labor Relations for CSX Transportation, He retired in 2009 after 40 years of railroad service. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family which often included weekends of boating at their condo in Flagler Beach. He was also a member of the Corvette Club of Jacksonville. In July 2008, Larry became 'Pops' when his son Jason and his wife Sherri gave birth to their son, Jacob Larry Clapp. Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Holly M. Clapp, son Jason Glen Clapp, daughter in law Sherri Lynn Clapp and grandson, Jacob Larry Clapp, all of Jacksonville. He is also survived by his parents, Glen and Florence Clapp, sisters, Peggy Fagel and Charlene Case, of St. Paul, Indiana, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 5:00 P.M. at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
