At an early age she married Carvin Beard, Sr. and to this union eight children were born.
Mary was a lifelong member of Maple Springs Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing, chewing her "Day's Work" "bacca" and loved raising four of her grandchildren, Demetrice Moss, Kacey Beard, Shawanaa Taylor, and RoMika Beard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carvin Beard, Sr.; one son, Tommy Charles Beard Sr.; one daughter, Etta Mae, two sisters, Bernice Crutchfield and Henrietta Davis; three brothers, Loftin, Ulysses and Frank Jackson, and two very devoted daughters-in-law, Ver-netta and Ann Beard.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters, Leslie (William), Charlesetta (James), and Rosie (Albert), all of Idabel; three sons, Carvin, Jr. (Wanda), Elfunzo, Sr. (Brenda) both of Idabel, and Douglas of Oklahoma City; a devoted sister-in-law, Loretta Jackson, two sisters, Maggie Batties, Idabel, and JoAnn McKnight, Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three grandsons-in-law; one granddaughter-in-law; one foster granddaughter, Kim-berly Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nunley's Funeral Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Maple Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Springs Cemetery.
