Cochran – John W. “Johnny” Barrs, Jr., age 83, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, surrounded by his family at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Cochran First Baptist Church. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Barrs was born and had lived most of his life in Bleckley County. He was the son of the late John Welton, Sr. and Blanche Dykes Barrs and was preceded in death by his daughter Tina Marie Barrs, his sister, Rosemary Barrs Peacock and his daughter-in-law, Shannon Barrs. Johnny was retired from Robins Air Force Base, a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a 1952 graduate of Cochran High School. He was a member and deacon of Cochran First Baptist Church and member of the Charles Barrow Sunday School Class.
The family will greet friends after the service Monday at Cochran First Baptist Church.
