She was born at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Gadsden, a true baby boomer - born after her daddy came home from World War II. She went through the public schools in Attalla, but dropped out her senior year to get married to Dennis Burton. They had one child, a son, and then divorced. She married Harold Ray Oliver on Christmas Eve, 1966. Together, they had two sons, and raised all three of her boys. She was well-known in Attalla as a cook at her parent's restaurant, Mildred's Restaurant, and for her volunteer work with the PTA - making costumes for Christmas pageants, cakes for bake sales, and any other number of crafty things. She was a wonderful cook and a loving mother. She loved animals, too, especially her chocolate toy poodle, Coco. After she was left a widow by the untimely death of Harold Ray, she married a man who abandoned her in her time of need. She was stricken with a non-cancerous, yet inoperable, brain tumor. During her treatment, she suffered several small strokes, which left her confined to a wheelchair. She was admitted at Northside Healthcare, a nursing home in Gadsden, in late 1998 or early 1999. She spent the last two decades of her life there. After suffering another stroke, she spent her final days in hospice care at Gadsden Regional Medical Center (formerly Baptist Memorial Hospital).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenis and Mildred Crow; her brother, Glenis "Sonny" Crow; and her husband, Harold Ray Oliver. She was survived by three sons, two daughters-in-law, two grandsons, and two granddaughters.

After her death, she was cremated, and the ashes split between her three sons.
