ROBERT BOWYER, ARMY VETERAN

Robert Bowyer, 63, Route 6, Logansport, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1992 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born Feb. 7, 1929, in Cass County to Gerald K. and Gladys Shaw Bowyer Sr. He married Ruth F. Smith-Johnson Bowyer June 11, 1982, in New Waverly and she survives.

Mr. Bowyer had lived in Cass and Miami counties all his life. He was employed as a machine operator at Small Parts, Monticello Division. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Onward Christian Church, a life member of the Bunker Hill Veterans of Foreign War, a member of the Peru Moose Lodge, the Logansport Eagles Aerie No. 323, and a past Volunteer Fire Chief of the Pipe Creek Township Fire Department at Bunker Hill.

Surviving with his wife, Ruth if Logansport and mother, Gladys Bowyer of Logansport, are a daughter, Bobbi Nestleroad, Gas City, a son, Barry Bowyer, Florida, a step son, Clay Johnson, Logansport; a step daughter, Myra Yoder, South Bend, a brother, Keith Bowyer, Logansport, a grandson, Craig Nestleroad, Gas City, and a granddaughter, Kayla Nestleroad, Gas City.

Mr. Bowyer was preceded in death by his father and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, 303 West Market in Logansport, Saturday, Sept. 19, at 10:30 p. m. The Rev. Fred Kellogg will officiate. Burial will be with military rites at the Davis Cemetery in Summittville.

Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p. m. Friday, Sept. 18. The Moose Lodge will conduct memorial services at 7:30 p. m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Unit of the American Heart Association.
