In the case of _______ claimant for citizenship in the Cherokee Nation Indian Territory, as a Cherokee Indian by blood, before the Honorable "Dawes Commission," authorized under act of the Congress of the United States. Personally appeared this day before me W.D. Wasson a Notary Public within and for the District aforenamed, duly authorized to administer oaths to me personally well known to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who being by me duly sworn, according to law. deposes and says: My name is Phillip T. Johnson; my age is 60 years: My post-office address is Tahlequah Indian Territory: I am a farmer by occupation; I am a citizen of the Cherokee Nation Indian Territory. And affliant declares in relation to the above-named case, as follows, to wit:

I am well acquainted with Rachel A. Higdon her maiden name was Freeland She was the daughter of Howell E. and Zelpha Freeland both of whom I was well acquainted with, the said Zelpha Freeland was a Campbell before she married Howell E. Freeland. I knew Anna C. Freeland her maiden name was Campbell She married Jeremiah Freeland I have no interest in this case I know the above named parties in East Tennessee. The Zelpha Freeland had one daughter named Caroline. She married Samuel Ballew and one named Artimessa Freeland She married a man named Watts.
