Fredric D. Jefferson passed away Saturday March 17 at Vancrest of Eaton. Fred was born August 12, 1951 in Richmond, IN. He was the son of Thelma (Silvers) Rautsaw and Fredric E. Jefferson. He was a 1969 graduate of Eaton High School and a graduate of Wright State University. He retired from Wright State University in 2009, after serving for 24 years as head men’s golf coach. During his tenure as coach, the team experienced five NCAA appearances and six conference titles. In addition, Fred was named Coach of the Year five times and WSUs department Coach of the Year four times. After his retirement from Wright State, he served for a short time and the assistant women’s golf coach for Penn State.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Karen Jefferson and his step-father Ned Rautsaw.

Fred is survived by his nieces, Stephanie (Eric) Hisey and Jeannie (Steve) French of Eaton, and his nephew, Troy (Maylen) Hickman of Costa Mesa, California. In addition, he is survived by brothers and sisters Jon Jefferson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Matt Jefferson of Angleton, Texas, Stacey Jefferson and Trish Fiore of Austin, Texas, Erin Smith of Valley Mills, Texas, Sherry Phillips of Columbus, Ohio and Sandy Reed of Longwood, Florida. His aunt, Eleanor Silvers of Eaton, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and one great, great nephew.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Mound Hill Cemetery (new side) in Eaton with Bro. Dave Yocom officiating.
