Delia Couple 67 Years Wed
Delia--Mr. and Mrs. Victor B. DeChenne of Delia will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary here Saturday. Mrs. DeChenne, formerly Dolera Moss, was born in Illinois in 1863, Mr. DeChenne was born in the same state in 1861.
Two years after their marriage they moved to Washington in 1884, when they homesteaded near Spray. Later they owned a hotel at Medical Lake, prior to moving to Alberta in 1896.
They first homesteaded near Bashaw, and after three years took up another homestead, 15 miles northeast of Delia. There Mr. DeChenne was postmaster for a number of years before establishment of the town of Delia. The district in which he settled is named Victor in his honor.
The children include: Frank of Craigmyle, Jess of Craigmyle, Roger of Red Deer, James of San Francisco, Leslie of Medical Lake, Wash., Mrs. Winn Waidruff, Peace River.
