Metta died from hepatic cancer. A contributory cause of her death was cancer of her right knee in 1932.

OBIT:

Mrs. Willametta Wood, aged 76, died Sunday night at her home at 414 Kansas Ave. She had been a life-long member of the Methodist Church and had resided in Orting since 1901.

She is survived by her widower, B. B. Wood; two sons, Walter Beatty of Orting and Virgil Lee of Chehalis; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Rosemeyer of Indiana; one brother, William Flora of Indiana; and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Chitty of Detroit.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal Church. Rev. J. F. McQueen officiating and burial was held in the Orting Cemetery.
