Bertha was a dressmaker. She never married, and she had no children.
Her life was short by today's standards. That she was highly esteemed and obviously dearly loved by her family is evidenced by her firstborn grandniece, my grandmother, being given her name.
Living only five years beyond her mother's death, she was survived by her brother, Archibald Davis Butts* and his wife, Amanda, two nieces, Scota Butts and Hattie Butts Eberbach, three nephews, Cameron, Mayo, and Frank, and three grandnieces, Bertha, Barbara, and Freda Eberbach.
*At some point Archibald Davis had the family name legally changed from "Butt" to "Butts". The year that occurred is not known.
