Mason Combs was born in Puman's End Creek-Caroline County, Virgina, the son of John Combs and Hannah Ann 'Mason.'
Mason was named in honor of his mother's maiden name.
His grandparents were Archdale Combs and
Elizabeth 'Butler' Combs. Also
Josiah Mason and wife, Elizabeth.
He died in Surry County, North Carolina

Mason was married to Sarah Ann 'Nelson'
in 1682, in Virginia.
They were the parents of two known
children:
Joseph
Mason (Jr.)

Mason's great grandfather, John
Combs was the family immigrant
that sailed to the new country
in 1619, on the ship, "Margold."
It sailed from London, England,
to Jamestown.

Ca 1734 in Caroline County, Virginia. They had seven known children, John the eldest was most likely born in Caroline County, Virginia possibly in Stafford but the six remaining-William, Ann, Sarah, Mason, Winifred & Wilmot are all documented by church records in Overwharton Parish, Staffard County, Virginia. Mason died sometime after 16 Nov 1785 in Surry County, North Carolina according to his will.
