Danette Poulson
SEPTEMBER 3, 1955 ~ MARCH 6, 2018 (AGE 62)

(Cook with no "e" is correct)

Danette Poulson, 62, of Centerville, Utah died peacefully after a courageous 3-year battle with cancer, Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

She was born September 3, 1955 to Donald and Vera (Shupe) Cook, in Ogden, Utah. After graduating from Bonneville High in 1973 She worked for Rockwell international and eventually Boeing, where she retired in 2015 after 38 years.

She raised two sons and loved to attend their sporting events. That tradition carried on as her grandkids began their journey through soccer, football, baseball and basketball. She loved music and spent many years singing in various choral groups. She sang with the Jay Welch Chorale and eventually the Choral Arts Society of Utah and served as president of the choir.

Danette was the example of service to all who knew her. She served on the board of ITA (intermountain Therapy Animals) and was a proud owner of several dogs through her life, with Wolfie, a beautiful black Labradoodle being her constant companion.

She was a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House and loved to care for Ollie, the therapy dog and was hoping to train Wolfie to be a therapy dog. She loved spending time with her 17 grandkids. She found peace on the lake fishing or sitting by the campfire with her husband and family. After retirement, she took a keen interest in researching her family history. Her sons will testify that she made the best spaghetti in the world.

She is survived by her husband Sterling Sessions Poulson, Centerville, UT, brother Don Cook (Mary), and children Cody Casey, Preston Casey (Whitney), Rochelle Trudo (Michelle), Brian Poulson, Jessica Poulson, Kyle Vanderstappen (Melissa), 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, aunt Arlene Cook (Vern), uncle Alton Cook (Marion). She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Vera Cook and sister Jodyane Cook.

Funeral service will be at First Presbyterian Church, South Temple and C St. in Salt Lake City on Saturday March 10, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing opportunities at 6-8 p.m. Friday night at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main in Bountiful. Interment on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hooper Cemetery, 5340 S. 6300 W. in Hooper, UT. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
