Daughter of James Dimmitt (Jr.) and his first wife Hannah Parker, Granddaughter of James Dimmitt Sr. and Rachel Sinclair, Robert Parker and Hannah Peters.

Maria was a lifelong Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky resident and the widow of Dr. Nathan Hixson, to whom she was married in Mason County, Kentucky on June 13, 1825.

Correction: It has been proven by this genealogist by locating the will of Nathan Hixson Jr. that he married Rachel Dimmitt as his second wife. Nathan Hixson Jr's son Dr. Nathan Hixson (III) by his first wife, Anna Morris, was married to Maria Dimmitt.

Maria's will was proven in court by her 1/2 brother Charles Eclivoid (Edward) Dimmitt and entered into the court record on September 7th, 1883. Maria equally divided her estate between her son William D. Hixson and assigned as executor and half to her granddaughter Mary Eliza Porter, daughter of Anna Maria (Hixson) Coryell. Maria died at the home of her brother Charles, 29 Oct 1883.
