Howard was a heavy equipment operator for over 20 years. He was a hardworking man who was always busy working at something. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a wonderful outdoorsman and enjoyed searching for and collecting shed deer antlers. Howard was an excellent gardener and spent many long hours cultivating his tomatoes. He liked to watch boxing and wrestling. In later years, Howard loved getting together with his family and enjoying a meal. His strong spirit and hard work ethic will live on in those who knew him best.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Ramsey Grinder of Marshall; one son, Frank Grinder of Harrison; grandchildren, Penny (James) Sheehy of Pyatt, Stan (Snow) Sasser of WA, Michelle (Kevin) Manes of St. Joe, Michael (Sherry) Grinder of Everton, Shawna Biddle of Berryville, Chris (Deana) Grinder of Fox, Crystal (Kevin) Case of Harrison, Cory (Amanda) Grinder of Fox, Jason (Kristi) Grinder of Lead Hill and Josie (Jim) Harness of Marshall; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold (June) Grinder of Pindall and J.D. Grinder of St. Joe.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Myrtle Grinder; his children, Vicki Beard, Mike Grinder and Ann Alread; his siblings, Earn Grinder, Marie Still, Jack Grinder, E.G. Grinder and Bob Grinder; and one daughter-in-law, Donna Grinder.
Funeral services for Howard will be10:00 AMTuesday, March 6th, 2018 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Doug Grinder and Bro. Rob Grinder officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Monday, March 5th, 2018 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Silver Hill Cemetery near St. Joe.
