Sandy passed away on Tuesday, February 27th, at the Douglas County Hospital in Omaha, NE. Survivors include: her husband, Robert Truitt of Omaha, NE; 3 children, Mike (Crystal) Kroeger of Omaha, NE, Brian (Lisa) Kroeger of Lincoln, NE, and Sara (Jon) Fredrickson of Greenville, WI; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Richard Brockelsby of Vail; 2 sisters, Mary Thiedeman of Charleston, SC and Delores Kruger of Arcadia; and other relatives and friends. Sandra Bell Truitt, 74, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Douglas County Hospital in Omaha. She had attained the age of 74 years, 5 months and 1 day.
She was born on September 26, 1943, in Denison, Iowa, to Aaron and Delpha Bell Brockelsby. Sandra grew up on the family farm with her older sisters Mary and Delores and younger brother Richard. She was baptized at United Presbyterian Church in Vail, Iowa. She was a cheerleader at AR-WE-VA.
Sandra married Gary Kroeger and had two sons, Michael and Brian. In 1981, she married Robert Truitt and adopted her daughter Sara making her family complete. Sandra was a longtime employee at Hy-Vee grocery store where she worked in the bakery department. In her free time, she was a proud longtime Eastern Star member. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and going camping.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her beloved husband Robert Truitt of Omaha, NE; children: Mike and wife Crystal Kroeger of Omaha, NE, Brian and wife Lisa Kroeger of Lincoln, NE, Sara and husband Jon Fredrickson of Greenville, WI; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Mary Thiedeman of Charleston, SC and Delores Kruger of Arcadia, IA; brother, Richard Brockelsby of Vail, IA; other relatives and friends.
