Jerome Dancheck, 77 years of age and Whitehall resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 24, 2018 in the Lehigh Valley Hospice, surrounded by his loving and dedicated family. The husband of Janet K. (Price) Dancheck for 52 years, he was born in Wilkes Barre to the late Michael and Josephine (Kozelsky) Dancheck.
He proudly served his Country in the US Air Force, and continued his patriotism throughout his life. A 1957 graduate of GAR High School, he attained his degree from Lafayette College in 1974. Jerry was a Mechanical Engineer for Air Products and Chemicals retiring in 2000. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending sporting events of his grandchildren.
Surviving beside his wife; daughter Michelle Piatkiewicz and husband Jon of Fogelsville; son Mark Dancheck and wife Kim of Indiana; grandchildren Zachary, Rachel, Jeremy and Jenna; sister Patricia Williams of Virginia.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Thursday March 1, 2018 in St. Peter's Catholic Church 4 South Fifth St, Coplay, PA 18037 with Rev. Msgr. James J. Martin as the Celebrant. His viewings will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd Whitehall, PA 18052, and on Thursday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 am in the Church Foyer. Interment will follow in St Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Whitehall.
