Tribute of Respect
To the Worshipful Master, Wardens and Brethren of Friend Lodge No. 352, A. F. & A. M., Ozark, Missouri.
In His infinite wisdom, the Supreme Architect of the Universe had permitted death to again invade our ranks and take from membership in our Lodge to the Supreme Grand Lodge above another worthy member. Elias Bedford Russell petitioned Friend Lodge on December 26, 1906 and was made a Master Mason May 28, 1907. For his long tenure in freemasonry, he was awarded the Fraternity’s distinguished fifty-year button. Brother Russell was born in Christian County, Missouri on November 20, 1876 and parted this life February 15, 1962 at over 85 years of age. He was buried by the brethren of the Lodge with Masonic honors in the Ozark Cemetery. In his earlier days, Brother Russell was a successful farmer and stockman in this community. Later he turned to merchandising with equal distinction. BE IT RESOLVED, That we will ever bear in mind grateful remembrance of the zeal and fidelity with which Brother Russell discharged his Masonic duties and will try to emulate his devotion to the Grand Principles of our Fraternity. BE IT RESOLVED, That we commend his example of the peaceful, industrious and upright life and that we will cherish his memory as a true and faithful member of out Craft. RESOLVED, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon our records, and a copy furnished to the Ozark newspaper for publication.
