BRISTOL - Eleanor M. (Mikolajczyk) Anderson Lucas, 76, widow of William R. Anderson and Harold Lucas, died peacefully Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Plainville Health Care Center surrounded by her loving children. Mrs. Lucas was born in New Britain April 28, 1930, and was a daughter of the late Walter and Frances (Rutkowski) Mikolajczyk. She formerly lived in New Britain, where she graduated from the New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. A registered nurse, she first worked at New Britain General Hospital, and then took time off to raise her family before working at Geri-Care in Farmington and the Forestville Nursing Home. She resided in Bristol since 1958 and was a member of St. Gregory Church, Bristol. Eleanor is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William J. Anderson of Salisbury, Mass. and Donald and Joann Anderson of Rowley, Mass.; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Chris Monckton of North Granby; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Mary Michaels of Southington; two sisters, Bernice Finn of Bristol and Hattie Conlon of New Britain; five grandchildren, Derek Anderson of San José, Calif., Lilly and Thomas Anderson of Rowley, Mass. and Andrew and Alex Monckton of North Granby; several nieces and nephews; and a "son-in-law and daughter-in-law," Paul and Lisa Monckton of Bristol. She cherished her longtime friendships with a number of neighbors and friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Sadowski and Pauline Duszak. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 2, 2007, at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Gregory Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 4 and 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004, or to Connecticut VNA Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, 2nd Floor, East Hartford, CT 06108.
