She was born December 13, 1922 in Swan Valley, Idaho the daughter of Lewis Alvera Fisher and Margaret Butler.
Donnetta attended Aberdeen High School.
On October 16, 1940, she married her high school sweetheart, Merland Nelson in Idaho Falls. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in July of 2003.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Donnetta participated in the name extraction program. She also belonged to the Art Guild of Aberdeen.
Donnetta worked at the Simplot Plant in Aberdeen for a number of years. She also worked alongside her husband on their ranch.
She enjoyed painting, playing pinochle and was very sharp with numbers and mathematics.
She is survived by her children, Karla (Bob) Parke of Malta, Idaho, Terry (Janis) Nelson of South Jordan, Utah, Sheila (Bruce) Trosper of Shelley, Idaho, and Thane (Wendy) Nelson of Rose, Idaho; fifteen grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merland, brothers, Jack, Marvin, Von and Doyle Fisher and sister, Naoma Jacobson.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
