Alberta Phelps Miller, formerly of the 800 block of Olney Road, died Feb. 9, 1999.

Born in Plymouth, N.C., to Mrs. Stenner Phelps and the late Willis Phelps, she was employed as a companion aide. Mrs. Miller was a member of Oakwood Chapel Church of Christ Disciples.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Ann Jennings; two sisters, Pearlie Jacobs and Mary Eure, both of Norfolk; four brothers, Willis Phelps Jr. and John W. Phelps, both of Plymouth, N.C., Herman L. Phelps of Norfolk and Robert L. Phelps of Baltimore, Md.; a grandson, Kevin D. Jennings; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in the chapel of Riddick Funeral Service by the Rev. Clifton N. White. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 7000 Auburn Ave., Apt. 616. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
