Kenneth (Ken) Marquardt, age 82, of Crivitz went home to be with his Lord on Friday February 16, 2018. He was born on April 9, 1935 in Lena to the late Henry and Gertrude (Jandrey) Marquardt. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from March 10, 1954 to Feb 25, 1956 as a truck driver. He worked on the Marquardt Family Dairy Farm and Thompson Boat until 1964. On November 9, 1963 he married the love of his life, Judith Borkovec at St Charles Catholic Church in Lena. In 1964 he moved to Juneau WI, worked at Pauly Cheese of Juneau and retired from Universal Foods of Juneau in 1997. Shortly after retirement he moved to the family vacation home near Crivitz. Ken enjoyed visiting with family and friends, remodeling, camping, deer hunting, fishing, the local casinos, building birdhouses and watching various wildlife from his favorite chair on the back porch.He is survived by his wife of 54 years Judy, his children Dean (Ginny) Marquardt of Sun Prairie, Glen Marquardt of Horicon, Alan (Pamela) Marquardt of Big Flats, Jay (Rene) Marquardt of Beaver Dam, Derek (Jill) Marquardt of Juneau and Julie Kahl (Jamy Lucking) of Menomonie and 9 Grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Harvey (Diane) Marquardt of Oconto Falls, four sisters Carol Behnke of Lena, Lenea Carlson of Gillett, Sylvia (Delmar) Kienitz of Pound, Betty Behnke of Green Bay; two sister-in-laws Irene Marquardt and Marilyn Marquardt; many nieces and nephews and many special friends. Along with his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Henry Jr.; a sister Marion Hanneman; 4 brothers-in-law, Gordon Behnke, Willard Hanneman, Raymond Behnke, Raymond Carlson and a son-in-law Tory Kahl.The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff of Unity Hospice for their loving care and support.Visitation and Service will be held at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 801 George Street, Crivitz WI on Saturday March 3rd from 9- 12 Noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 12 Noon with Pastor David Pleuss officiating and military rites to follow.
