She was born on Oct. 2, 1928, in Neillsville, to the late John and Mildred (Fletcher) Dakins. On Aug. 4, 1951, she was married to William Clussman in Wausau. William passed away on April 13, 2015.
Shirley had worked in the office at her husband's pharmacy - Haney Drugs in Wisconsin Rapids. Her interests included spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also camping, traveling and going to the casinos.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy (Randy) Melville, Vicki Clussman and Lisa (Ray) Weisenbeck; grandchildren, Frank (Amanda) Melville, Mike (Vanessa Chadwick) Melville, Kyle Melville, Megan Melville, Josh (Anica) Taggatz, Alicia (Dan) Wheeler, Zach (Margaret Lis) Taggatz, Jessica Taggatz, Shane Weisenbeck, Rachel Weisenbeck and Cole Weisenbeck; great-grandchildren, Bristol Melville, Grayson Melville, Therese Taggatz, Ava Taggatz and Owen Wheeler; and sisters-in-law, Isla Hilgers, Doris Dakins and Marion Dakins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings, George, Carroll, Wilbur and Kenneth Dakins, Lois Worden, Dorothy Wollslair, April Pierce, Eleanor Jaecks, Clara Dakins and Donald Dakins.
A private committal service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the Forest Hill Mausoleum Chapel in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Douglas Schalow will officiate. The Herman-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Center is honored to be assisting the family.
