Memorial services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Reverend Al Wierzba will officiate.
Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Ken was born July 1, 1921, in Portage County, to John and Mildred (Fletcher) Dakins. He married Doris Wirtz on September 4, 1952, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Altdorf, Wisconsin. He was employed at Consolidated Papers, Inc. for 40 years, retiring in September 1986.
Ken is survived by his wife, Doris; son, Craig (Margo) Dakins of Wisconsin Rapids; four daughters, Dawn (Dennis) Dakins-Krause, Berlin; Charlene (Mark) Allison, Wisconsin Rapids; Jalayne (Ron) Lanphear, Wisconsin Rapids; Sheila (Jim) Jentsch, Adell; two sisters, Shirley (William) Clussman, Wisconsin Rapids; Eleanor Jaecks, Wausau; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, George, Carroll, Wilbur and Donald; and three sisters, April, Dorothy and Lois.
In leau of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is handling all the arrangements.
