ANGEL, JAMES T. (TERRY), 58, of Houston, TX went to be with his heavenly Father the morning of January 5, 2004. He was born June 6, 1945 in Waco, TX and grew up in the Dallas area. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Viet Nam war. After working briefly as a mechanic for International Harvester, he returned to Texas A&M University to earn Bachelors of Science degrees in both Industrial Technology and Mechanical Engineering. He joined Reading & Bates Drilling Co. in 1972, where he held several positions around the world before being named president in 1987. He retired from the company in 1993 to enjoy life at a somewhat slower pace. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Reba Berryhill Angel, and his sister, Beverly Jean Averitt. He was a kind, patient and loving husband to Audrey, and devoted father to Jason P. Angel of Ft. Bragg, NC; Wendy E. Angel of Atlanta, GA; and Marisa A. Angel of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his father, Harold P. Angel and wife Allyene of Gladewater, TX; brother H. Woody Angel of Chireno, TX; brother Kyp Angel and wife Gee of Alpine, TX; aunt Ruby Odell and husband Charlie of Dallas, TX; aunt Nancy Griffin and husband Charlie of Spring, TX; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends and neighbors. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 8, at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church; 10503 Westheimer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Star of Hope Mission or the charity or church of your choice.
