Charles “Chuck” Hutchcroft, age 95, formerly of Mediapolis, died Sunday February 11, 2018 at the Klein Center in West Burlington. The son of Charles L. and Laura (Jones) Hutchcroft, he was born November 26, 1922 at Burlington. On July 29, 1945 he married Betty Gabeline at Mediapolis; she died October 8, 2013. He was a graduate of the Mediapolis High School. He served in the Army Air Force during W.W. II in Italy.
Chuck was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Mediapolis United Methodist Church, a former Mediapolis School Board member, and served on the board of directors of the Mediapolis Savings Bank for over 30 years. He also was a member of the American Legion, the Des Moines County Cattleman Association, and was one of the “backroom boys” at the Apron Strings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter Ellen, one son Tom, and two sisters.
