"STEVENSON, Velma Ayleen, 77 of Choctaw, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 1992. She was born Feb. 9, 1915 in Chickalah, Ark. to Marion L. and Minnie E. Hill. She moved to Holdenville, Ok. as a young woman and then moved to Okla. City in the early 1940's. She was a member of Life Christian Center. Mrs. Stevenson started helping in Sunday School in Community Camp in 1947. She helped found the Wesleyan Youth Inc. which sponsored the Wesleyan Youth Boys Home that touched the lives of over 2,000 boys for 35 years. She married Rev. L. M. Stevenson February 9, 1949 in Okla. City. Survived by Rev. Stevenson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Charmagne and Dave Howes, Sr. of the home; 2 grandchildren, David Howes, Jr., Okla. City, Ayleen Jordan, South Carolina; 5 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Gertrude Strait, Muskogee, Macie Ashley, Okla. City, and Mary Ellen Glasgow, Blanchard; a brother, Benton Hill, Eufaula, Ok. Services...Friday, March 6, 1992 at 2:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour SE Chapel; with burial in Resthaven Cemetery..."
