Iven T. Boston, 80, of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA.

He was born on April 16, 1930 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Charles and Lucretia Mae Langley Boston.

On October 30, 1976 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Schminkey in Cedar Rapids, IA. She survives.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Iven always found time to go to their events.

He was preceded in death by twelve siblings, Lawerence Boston, Leona Boston Chance, Vergil Boston, Mabel Boston Mitten, Myrtle Boston Davis, Geraldine Boston Clark, Charlie Leroy Boston, Leota Boston Kendziorek, Hollis Boston, Twila Boston Phillips-Oberg, Hazel Boston Kelly, and Eva Boston in infancy.

Iven worked as a self employed contractor and built at least 35 houses locally. He was a member of the Keokuk Church of The Nazarene and a former member of the Carpenters Union. Iven enjoyed helping friends remodel their homes. He collected and restored antique cars and tinkered with electronics. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle up into his mid-seventies.
