Odd Fellows Leader Dies

J. H. Shirah, 84, local jeweler for 44 years, and a prominent member of the I. O. O. F., died at the home of his son, E. Mallary Shirah, 2816 Angeles St. A native of Georgia, Mr. Shirah lived at 1510 W. Cass St.
He had been in Odd Fellow work for 44 years, and was a member of Prospect Lodge No. 38. He was was a past grand master of the I. O. O. F. of Florida, past chief patriarch of the Grand Encampment of Florida, and representative to the sovereign Grand Lodge of the United States. A member of the First Baptist Church, he once repaired and maintained pipe organs of several Tampa churches.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Eva Shirah, St. Petersburg; his son; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Greenman Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral service to be held Friday at 3:30 P. M.

SHIRAH, JAMES HENRY---- James Henry Shirah, 84, 1510 West Cass St., died Wednesday at the home of his son. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eva A. Shirah, St. Petersburg; a son, E. Mallary Shirah, Tampa; three granddaughters, Mrs. Rice C. Linn, Evelyn Gause, and Betty Jean Gause, and a great-grandson, Danny Malcolm Linn, all of Dallas, Tex. Services will be held Friday at 3:30 o'clock at the Greenman Home. I. O. O. F will have charge of services at the grave. Active pallbearers: S. C. McConnell, Walter Durst, Otto P. Stallings, D. W. Landers, Charles Roberts and D. C. Blanton. All members of Odd Fellows are requested to act as honorary pallbearers. Burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Greenman Home from this morning.
