She was born April 12, 1933 in Stevens Point. She is the daughter of the late Benedict & Minnie (Glodowski) Blavat.
Her marriage to Chester Karch took place on May 18, 1957 at St. Peter Catholic Church, he survives. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage this past year.
Eleanor worked for Wisconsin Bell Phone Co. and was a Teacher’s Aide for the Stevens Point School system, retiring in 1988.
She is a long time member of the St. Peter Rosary Society Rose 15. Eleanor enjoyed, reading and traveling especially a 50th anniversary trip to Gatlinburg with her family.
In lieu of flowers a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include her husband Chester, one daughter: Michele (Jim) Verbick of McHenry, IL. One son: John (Stacey) Karch of Rosholt, One Granddaughter: Brooklyn. 3 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren and 3 sisters: Virginia (Dave) Fricker of Terlingua, TX, Sr. Carlene Blavat SSJ-TOSF of Stevens Point & Mary Blavat of Stevens Point.
She is preceded in death by 2 sons: Kevin & Keith Karch & 1 brother: Art Blavat.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Monday Feb. 5, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of services in the St. Faustina room at St. Peter Church with a rosary prayed at 9:30 AM.
