Glen Leonard Brown (1928-2018)

Glen Brown passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family.

He was born February 4, 1928 in Wilford, ID to Thomas and Nina Brown. He married his wife Genece in January 1952, after a short courtship. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together Glen and Genece raised 2 daughters, Sherry and Charlotte.

Glen spent his younger years tending cattle and farming. Often he would talk about only having shoes to go to school and running around barefoot the rest of the time. He learned at a very young age what hard work was and passed on this knowledge to his family.

Glen has lived in Wilford, West Yellowstone, Rexburg, and Jackson Hole, before moving to Blackfoot, ID where he spent most of his life. Glen worked at Spudnik as a welder until he retired in 1990. He then spent the following years on their 16 acres ranch, east of Blackfoot, where he had horses, chickens, and cats to care for. He resided there until Genece passed away in October of last year.

Glen was a very loving and kind man, with a heart of gold. He was always willing to help other people and would give them whatever he could, even though he didnt have much. He could talk to anyone. Whenever he would go out to grocery stores or any place with people he would always start talking to the people in line around him.

Glen is survived by his sister Virginia (Idaho Falls), daughter Sherry(Blackfoot), 6 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, daughter Charlotte and wife Genece.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 5, at 2:00 pm at the Blackfoot East LDS Stake Center, 1289 Mt Putnam Drive. The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Sunday February 4, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling, Blackfoot and again one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Riverside Thomas Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com
