Billy M. Bennett, age 87, passed away on January 30, 2018 at his home with his wife, son and daughter by his side.

Billy was born to the late John and Betty Bennett in Thaxton, Mississippi and worked in construction, building many homes in the Jackson, Madison, MS and Panama City, Florida area before he retired and moved to Anniston, Alabama. During his life he collected coins, hunted and fished but most importantly he loved music and playing his guitar. He is one of only a few unknown musicians to have a record in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sunnyside Florida in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Billy is survived by his loving spouse Annie Faye Bennett; children, Nancy White (Jerry), Mitchell Bennett (Sue), Connie Miller (Melt), Susan Lynn (Raymond), Jim Bullock and LeAnne Storey (Robert); 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and brother James Bennett.

In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his sisters, Mabel Morris and Margriet Wenzel; brother, Vernon Bennett, granddaughter, Bonnie Miller, and son-in-law, Tony White.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home Madison, MS with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
