Mable Morris

ETTA - Mable Bennett Morris, 85, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at the Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford. He was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Pontotoc County to John Victor and Betty Jane Long Bennett. She lived most of her life in the Etta area. She was a member of the Salem Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star and a retired nurse.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Salem Methodist Church in Etta with the Rev. Ruth Woods officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mortimer Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Warren Morris of Atoka, Tenn., and Bobby Morris of Etta; two brothers, James Bennett of Olive Branch and Billy Bennett of Panama City, Fla.; one sister, Margaret Wenzel of Myrtle; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Morris in 2002; and by a son, Wayne Morris.

Pallbearers will be Roger Morris, Perry Morris, Michael Morris, Anthony Morris, Jason Morris and Brooks Brownlee. Honorary pallbearer will be Angie Morris Corder.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the Salem Methodist Church, Etta, MS.
