CONCORD Mr. Brown Alexander Rhinehardt died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Universal Health Care.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m., at Gordon Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m., Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be performed by Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.
Brown was born July 3, 1933, to the late B.L. Rhinehardt and Elvia Little Rhinehardt. He is survived by his wife, Edna Billings Rhinehardt. Additional members of his family include a brother, Lewis H. Rhinehardt of Summerville, S.C.; sister, Jamie Givens of Matthews [Mrs. Charles Givens, son of was the son of Ernest Alfred Givens and Clara Ophelia Fletcher]; and many nieces and nephews.
During his life he served his country in the U.S. Army and upon his return to his home in Cabarrus County, he worked as a supervisor at grocery stores including A&P and Winn-Dixie. He also spent many years working at Fisher-Earnhardt Oil Company in Mount Pleasant.
He was a member of Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church, 1428 Old Charlotte Rd., Concord, NC 28027. Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is serving the Rhinehardt family.
