Minnie De Yager was born on April 18, 1927 to Nicolaas and Jenneke de Roon who lived west of Lebanon, Iowa. Minnie married Albert De Yager on May 1, 1947 at Lebanon, Iowa, where they farmed for 12 years on Minnie’s parents’ farm. A move was made then to a farm 4 miles east of Inwood where Albert & Minnie farmed for 20 years. After that Albert & Minnie moved to their retirement home in the town of Inwood where they lived 39 years. Albert and Minnie were married 65 years.
Minnie loved her husband and family dearly, loved keeping her house very clean, also helped with the work on the farm. Minnie loved being home with her children, she loved cooking, gardening, and gospel music. She attended Lebanon Christian Reformed Ladies Aid Society and Inwood Christian Reformed Ladies Aid Society. Minnie loved going to church.
Those remaining to live for the God Minnie served and loved are 5 children: Jeanette (Harold) Vanden Burg of Tea, South Dakota, Peter (Betsy) De Yager of Hull, Iowa, Stan (Diane) De Yager of Seattle, Washington, Arlene Haverhals of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Kevin De Yager (fiancée- Kathleen Heptig) of Peoria, Arizona; 15 grandchildren & spouses, 27 great grandchildren, and many loved nieces and nephews and friends.
Minnie was preceded in death on November 12, 2012 by her husband, Albert, her parents- Mr. and Mrs. Nicolaas De Roon, brother Peter De Roon, brother Cornelius De Roon, sister Johanna De Roon, (Dorhout) an infant sister, two great grandchildren- Zachary Griess of Loveland, Colorado and Zachary De Yager of Renton, Washington.
