Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for John W. Armitage, prominent Sumner resident, who died at his home Saturday evening about 5 o'clock. Death followed a lingering illness.
Mr. Armitage was 84 yers of age. He was a prominent member of the United Brethren Church and took as active part in church affair a long as his health permitted. He was a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella Armitage, by three sons, Joe, Sam and Wilbur, all of Sumner. One son Chester preceded him death.
Interment was made in the Chauncey Cemetery.
